On 21st November, our school community came together for a special Celebration of the Word to mark the end of our Jubilee Year of Hope. Since January, we have journeyed together as Pilgrims of Hope, opening our holy door, learning about the meaning of pilgrimages, and discovering how hope can be shared through our words and actions.
During the liturgy, we reflected on the Gospel of Luke, where Jesus proclaimed good news to the poor and freedom to the oppressed, reminding us that we too are called to be messengers of hope. Inspired by Pope Leo XIII’s message to “aspire to great things… and see the light of the Gospel grow every day,” our children created beautiful Angels of Hope. These were shared not only within our school community but also with our parish, a local care home, and placed around the wider community during Advent.
Through these acts of kindness, we continued to pass hope forward, bringing light, joy, and faith to others long after the Jubilee Year had ended. This celebration was a powerful reminder of our mission to live out the Gospel and spread hope wherever we go.
