Our Year 4 pupils at St Gregory’s Catholic Academy in Stockton have been deepening their understanding of the roles and responsibilities within our local parish community. As part of their learning in Religious Education, the children took part in a wonderful visit that brought their classroom learning to life.
A Meaningful Visit to Local Parishes
The children attended Mass and were warmly welcomed at English Martyrs and SS Peter and Paul. During their visit, they had the special opportunity to speak with dedicated parish volunteers who help support the church in many ways - from assisting at Mass to caring for the community.
These conversations helped the children gain real insight into how parish life works and the importance of service within the Church.
Grateful for Our Community
A huge thank you to the volunteers who took the time to chat with our pupils and share their experiences. Your kindness and generosity made the visit truly memorable and helped strengthen our children’s understanding of faith in action.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our Year 4 pupils represented St Gregory’s beautifully, showing curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm throughout the visit. Experiences like this help our learners connect their studies to the wider world and appreciate the important work happening within our parish.
Well done, Year 4 — we are very proud of you!
