The Wellbeing Team are in school full‑time to support the emotional and mental wellbeing of our children, staff, and families. They offer compassionate support, guidance, signposting, and a listening ear whenever it’s needed.

They are also part of St Gregory’s Safeguarding Team, and can help you through life’s difficult moments, providing a safe and trusted place to turn.

With over 35 years of combined experience at St Gregory’s, Miss Keen and Mrs Gilbert work together to lead the school’s Safeguarding & Wellbeing Team. Their shared passion for supporting children, families, and staff has shaped a caring, responsive, and nurturing service at the heart of school life.

Miss Keen joined St Gregory’s in 2013 after a background in social care and soon developed a dedicated wellbeing role focused on early help, emotional support, and safeguarding. Mrs Gilbert, who began her journey at the school more than 25 years ago, progressed from parent helper to HLTA, bringing warmth, skill, and a deep understanding of the school community. In 2017, they brought their strengths together to create the Wellbeing Team as it is today.

Together, they deliver a range of supportive activities, including Nurture Clubs and therapeutic sessions such as Drawing and Talking, and they help pupils grow as Wellbeing Ambassadors, encouraging kindness, confidence, and emotional awareness across the school.

As the Senior Mental Health Lead, Miss Keen guides the school’s wider approach to mental health and wellbeing, while Mrs Gilbert balances her wellbeing role with one day a week in the classroom, keeping close connections with pupils and staff.

Both team members bring rich personal experiences to their roles. Miss Keen, a mother whose lived experience strengthens her empathy and understanding, also enjoys DIY, upcycling, beauty, and draws on her earlier performing arts training. Mrs Gilbert, dedicated to her family and proud of her three grandchildren, is a talented crafter known for creating thoughtful handmade gifts.

Together, they form a compassionate, approachable, and trusted team who are here to support the emotional and mental wellbeing of the whole St Gregory’s community.
