On Tuesday 18th November, St. Gregory’s Catholic Primary School hosted an exciting Family Reading Workshop for our Key Stage 2 pupils and their families. The event was designed to celebrate the joy of reading and strengthen the home-school reading partnership through fun, interactive activities.
Families explored a range of engaging reading challenges, including:
- Mystery Corner – Following clues to identify popular book titles.
- Poetry Pod – Reading and performing poems together to bring words to life.
- Vocabulary Treasure Hunt – Searching for missing words and expanding vocabulary in a playful way.
The turnout was incredible, and the enthusiasm from both children and parents was truly inspiring! We received fantastic feedback, with families praising the event for making reading fun and interactive. It was clear that everyone had a wonderful time, and we are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back for our next reading celebration.
At St. Gregory’s, we believe that fostering a love of reading is key to lifelong learning, and events like this help strengthen that passion within our school community.
