Festivities Filled With Flavour and Fun
At St Gregory’s Catholic Academy in Stockton, pupils marked Chinese New Year with a vibrant celebration full of delicious food, creativity and cultural discovery. The day was packed with excitement as children explored traditions linked to this special festival.
A Tasty Feast to Mark the Occasion
The celebrations began with a mouth‑watering special menu created by the school kitchen. Children enjoyed dishes such as Chicken Curry, Vegetable Chow Mein, and the ever‑popular sides of spring rolls and prawn crackers - a feast that brought the flavours of Chinese cuisine to life.
Trying New Skills and Creative Crafts
The fun didn’t stop there. Pupils challenged themselves to use chopsticks and expressed their creativity through themed arts and crafts inspired by Chinese culture. These hands‑on activities helped deepen their understanding of the Lunar New Year and its traditions.
Welcoming the Year of the Horse
The whole school joined together to wish one another prosperity, good fortune and joy as they welcomed the Year of the Horse. A day full of learning, celebration and cultural appreciation!
