Pupils at St Gregory's Catholic Academy in Stockton have been taking part in important learning opportunities as the school marked Show Racism the Red Card Day and continued its celebrations of Black History Month.

The activities encouraged children to reflect on the values of respect, equality and inclusion while learning about individuals who have made a lasting impact on society.

Promoting Respect, Equality and Inclusion

As part of Show Racism the Red Card Day, pupils explored the importance of treating everyone with respect and recognising the value of diversity within communities.

Through classroom discussions and activities, children learned about the importance of challenging discrimination and creating an environment where everyone feels welcomed, valued and included.

Celebrating Black History Month

Throughout Black History Month, pupils have been learning about significant Black individuals who have shaped history through their achievements, leadership and determination.

The children explored the lives and contributions of inspiring figures who have helped create positive change in society, broadening their understanding of history and the impact individuals can have on the world around them.

Learning Valuable Lessons for the Future

The activities provided an opportunity for pupils to reflect on the importance of fairness, respect and celebrating the achievements of people from all backgrounds.

Staff were pleased to see children engaging thoughtfully with the topics and demonstrating a strong understanding of how kindness, inclusion and equality can help build stronger communities.

Living Out School Values
